Chairman of Racing NSW Russell Balding has insinuated that the Sydney Spring Carnival will be getting a boost in 2021.
A raise in prize money and an increase in new feature races are being mentioned for the 2021 Spring carnival.
As a result of the success of The Everest, Golden Eagle, The Hunter and The Gong’s placement into the spring carnival more feature races will be implemented in an attempt to strengthen the spring carnival even further.
Russell Balding also mentioned an increase to Group I race prize pools, specifically mentioned is the Group I Epsom Handicap which has a $1 Million prize pool the same as other non-stakes races like The Gong and The Hunter.
